波德申风光 Evening Scene of Port Dickson

Port Dickson is my favorite place for landscape photography. I like the soft evening sunlight shinning on the sea, the beach and the fishing boats. There are not many activities at this time of the day, except a few fishermen preparing to go out to the sea. As compared to the city, there is a sense of tranquility.

I have been going there very often, unfortunately, none of the trips had given me any satisfactory shots. Maybe I was not ‘at the right place and at the right time’!

韩先生的摄影技术一流,从职场政坛退休后,有否开间摄影屋来玩玩,将自己摄影心得和兴趣付诸成为事业?
波德申的黄昏的确如诗如画呢!

Hello,
I'm Jo Ling. I've been following your blog for all those mesmerising photos ever since dad got a copy of your calendar of your China trip photos. The colours and landscapes look so surreal. I'll keep coming back for more ;D

Excellent work!!
Recently, I'm learning how to take some quality pictures. I have a Canon Powershot but am not very satisfy with the outcome. I'm planning to buy a better camera like Canon EOS eventually. My question is where did you learn all the techniques of taking a good picture? Do you need to have many different lenses? I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks.

玉燕-Thank you for your compliments. For landscape photography, I normally use wide angle lenses ie 16-35 mm or 24-105 mm canon zoom lens. I am still learning, I learn from friends, but I do read some photography books. But most important is practice by taking more shots and learn from own mistakes. I am sure you can be a good photographer very soon. cheers....

foodbin-all these shots were taken at 4th miles Port Dickson. I'd been to Pasir Panjang, I still think 4th miles is better. Any suggestion?

Mr. Hon, thanks for the explanation. Besides the wide angle lenses, do you have to pay attention to the lights? Did you use flash when you took the evening scene? I took some pictures of the sunset at the beach with my powershot SX110IS, but they were not as detail as yours. I think the lenses play an important role as well.
