My friend’s wife was down with a stroke a few years ago. He takes her for treatment regularly. Besides, he walks her every morning with the hope that she will soon recover.

起舞弄清影 The Dancing Queens

Xianghai National Nature Reserve is situated in Jilin Province China. The wetland started to gain popularity among bird watchers for Red-crowned Crane.

We went there this winter, though the temperature was minus 30 Celsius, we still find fun shooting these birds as they were flying and dancing in front of us.

向海是吉林省国家自然保护区， 这里是拍摄丹顶鹤的好地方。零下摄氏30度的严寒冬天确不好受，但当看到成群的丹顶鹤在晨曦和黄昏潇洒的在空中飞翔，或在雪地翩翩起舞时，我们还是拼命的按快门直到手指冻得麻痹为止。

神奇的巴丹吉林沙漠 The Amazing Badan Desert

湖水清澈如镜，使天空和沙丘的倒影更美丽

巴丹有144个湖泊，水是沙漠生命的泉源

哪是沙丘？哪是水？哪是倒影？

晨光照耀下的沙丘

我们凌晨5时从兰州开车，路径武威和金昌，再过了一段颇长修着的公路后，才进入内蒙地带。历时超过11小时，全程700多公里，终在下午4时半，才抵达阿拉善右旗的巴丹吉林沙漠景区入口处。比原定时间迟了3小时，让我们错过黄昏的拍摄时间！

普通的车进不了沙漠心脏地带，我们预先在景区处租了一部越野车进入沙漠。这些车子都经过改装，车厢内安置铁架确保车身更稳固和安全，即使开多快，路有多陡，都不会把人抛出车外。我们被令系上安全带，这在大陆是少见的，因为一般师傅都不系带。

沙漠是无边无际的黄沙，没路，没指示牌，司机凭着其超强和过人的方向感和沿着其他车子的轮胎痕迹，带着我们冲沙浪。驾车师傅是位年轻的蒙古人，有六年在巴丹开车的经验，他那高超的驾驶技术让我折服，数百平方公里的大沙漠，成了他施展驾驶技术的最佳赛场。

沙漠处处是高低不平的沙丘，车子时上斜坡时下陡坡，师傅不仅要控制时速，还要快速地更换排档，一次上不了斜坡，就要后退再试第二次。我们宛如置身在一艘漂流在汪洋大海的小船，翻云覆雨般，感到惊险万分。其中一团员因晕车和受不了刺激，沿途呕吐不停，这也是冲沙的代价了。

抵达住宿地点时，夜幕已低垂，夜间的沙漠，宁静得只听到风声，满天都是星斗。幸好这里没有风沙，有些游客不住蒙古包，就地扎营。整日的行程已让我们劳累不堪，再好的景色也无心观看。9时未到，大伙都钻进帐篷会周公去了。沙漠温差较大，白天晴空万里，晚上却接近零度，配上冷风，即使穿上保暖衣物和棉被，还是感觉刺骨难眠。

真正开始拍摄，是在第二天早上。我们清晨6时准时出发，赶往必鲁图的山脚下被称为巴丹吉林沙漠的珠峰，也是世界最高的沙峰－等待第一道光线的到来。

当太阳慢慢升起时，寂静的沙漠就像是刚睡醒的美人，懒洋洋的，却充满活力。在光和影的笼罩下，沙丘展现出她哪美丽的线条， 神奇，美艳，让人不禁惊叹：造物者确是一位伟大的艺术家！

巴丹吉林沙漠占地4万多平方公里，是世界上第4大的沙漠，拥有大小100多个湖泊。不久前被『中国国家地理』杂志评为中国最美的沙漠，而名声大噪，吸引了更多海内外的旅客前来。

诺尔图就是较出名的湖泊之一，我们站在一个较高的沙丘往低拍摄。在柔软的旭日照射下，沙丘上的光影和湖泊中的倒影，产生梦幻般的视觉效果，让人分不出哪里是沙丘，哪个是倒影！

最后，我们来到另一个湖泊－宝日陶勒盖景点。湖水清澈见底，一群鱼儿在水中嬉戏。在蓝天的称托下，沙漠和湖泊充满着动感和活力，大家都忙着拍摄，玩得不亦乐乎！

巴丹吉林沙漠之旅可说是走马看花，由于行程紧凑，加上流失的时间，让我们感觉遗憾。但这美丽的邂逅，却令我回味至今。

Badan Jilin Desert, which covers an area of about 47,000 square kilometers, situated in Inner Mongolia, is the 4^th biggest desert in the world. Chinese National Geography magazine voted it as the most beautiful desert in China.

It took us more than 11 hours by road from Lanzou to the entrance of this beautiful desert. After the registration at the park headquarter, immediately we went inside the desert by a four-wheel drive. It turned out to be an exciting journey. We hold our breath when our driver was negotiating many sharp turns and drove up and down the sand dunes. It took us about another two hours to reach the place where we were going to spend the night.

Believe it or not, there are about 144 lakes in the desert. The highest dune on earth, about 500 meters high is also found here.

We got up early in the morning the next day and waited for the first ray of the morning sun to emerge at the foot of the tallest dune. I managed to capture a few images that show the light, shadow and the reflection of the dunes.

My stay in the desert is brief with only a few hours of shooting. I definitely wish to come back again.

Dayak Losarang

A fruitful photography excursion in West Java, Indonesia organized by Steve Chong and Rarindra Prakarsa. If you aim for landscapes, you may be disappointed, but you are well compensated with a lot of portraiture shots. It is also amazing to see the life of Dayak Losarang who spend the night in the river and stay under the hot sun the following day for a total of 4 months in a year. Believe me, I am looking forward to visit Indonesia again.

在朋友家拍的蜂鸟

家门前九重葛花丛中突然有个鸟窝，里面竟有3只白头翁雏鸟。才出世几天，毛还长得不齐，瘦巴巴的，亟需妈妈照顾。

鸟父母成天飞进飞出，忙著觅食喂儿。有人靠近鸟窝时，会不停发出抗议声音，深怕孩子被猫叩走，被人类破坏。爱护之情，显露无疑。

“母爱是伟大的”，这句话多半用来形容人类，但我看来，有时人类也没鸟儿般伟大。我观察多时，看到白头翁鸟爸爸妈妈捉来各种虫类，自己不舍得吃，却不间断的把食物送进孩子嘴里，直到它们羽翼长丰，终于能自己飞离窝为止。

反观被称为“万物之灵”的人类，社会上常常发生弃婴或弃养事件，令人心寒。最近非政府组织OrphanCare就和政府联合设立一个收留弃婴的“婴儿舱”，作为被父母或未婚妈妈遗弃婴儿的诞下婴儿的栖身之所。

这是何其大的讽刺，鸟类都有爱子之心，为何人没有？

It was reported that a non-governmental organization, the OrphanCARE, has set up a “baby hatch” for abandoned babies. In the past, there were instances where newly born babies from illegitimate couples were abandoned and some were found dead from exposure. It is human instinct to love and care for our children, but some just acted differently.

Just take a look at the pictures above, birds know its duty to feed its chicks. They continue to do so until the chicks are strong enough to fly away and be independent.

Are we not ashamed of those who abandoned their children?

没有人懂这座山的正式名字。

山上有两座兴都庙，向来上山者多为印度同胞，居民索性称它为‘印度山’。 也有人称它为‘拉务山’， 因为山在拉务路旁。

印度山海拔只有300多米，从山脚到山顶，一般体力步行30分钟就可到顶。山上风景怡人，可俯望整个芙蓉市，天气晴朗还可遥望到波德申海上的船只。

我喜欢黄昏上山，通常都是一个人独往。我享受独自登山的乐趣，一个人可以什么都想，也可以什么都不想。聆听着自己的脚步声，欣赏着山上的树木，加上偶尔传来几声猴叫声，环境静中带动，令我感受到生活的满足和快乐！

山上两座庙，一大一小，历史悠久，香火旺盛。大庙在山腰，小的在山顶。小庙里还挂着一口钟，上山的人喜欢击它几下，钟声特别悦耳。

几年前， 看守小庙的印度老人病了，在没有接班人的情况下，小庙年久失修，香火也少了，连那口钟也不知在什么时候不见了。每次上到小庙，不禁若有所失！但心中总会响起那熟悉的钟声！

据说这土地是属于私人所有，如果地主将它发展成为高尚住宅区，到时我们将失去市内唯一的登山处，那熟悉的钟声，也将无处寻觅了！

I am not sure the official name of this hill in Seremban. As there are two Hindu temples at the top, people call it as Hindu Temple Hill. It is also known as Labu Hill as it is situated near Labu road.

This hill has become a favorite place for hash-runners and you will also find a growing numbers of health-conscious city folks who climb the hill either in the morning or in the evening. It takes about 45 minutes walk from the foot of the hill to the top.

Though not very high, only about 300 meters above sea level, the view is scenic and with Seremban town under your feet. You may even see Port Dickson from a far distance when weather is good.

I was told the land of the hill is a private property, I hope it will not turned into a housing estate in the future as it is the only hill in town.
